Poetry- Black History Month

Black Poet, White Critic
-Dudley Randall

A critic advises
not to write on controversial subject
like freedom or murder,
but to treat universal themes
and timeless symbols
like the white unicorn.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Thought

"I have a dream" Common

So, the main question being asked today on radio and TV news stations, is "If Martin Luther King Jr. was alive, would he be happy with America, and black people today?" We can all sit around and speculate/question how our lives would be, if Martin Luther King Jr. was still alive today, but my question to you is, are YOU happy with the way things are? Not just about the status of people of color in America, but about everything? Genocide? World Hunger? Gay Rights? Homelessness? The Fight to End Aids? There are so many causes in our world today, that need a leader like Martin Luther King Jr, which will you choose?
