& My Afro's Mean, 'Cause I do My Thing!

Soooooo, I know I said I was going to leave the braids in until the end of this month. But I just couldn't help it, lol and I took them down last week. I missed my little bitty fro. It had been a while since I had actually seen it in its natural state.

Today I wore my first dry twist-out. :)! The only product i used was Shea Moisture's Cocconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk. I looooved it, so I thought I would share a few outcome pics. :).

Happy Hair & Much Love,
Eli :).

Stop Hating! On Curly Hair

This video is super true! Hilarious, but true. Haha we all know those people who always and only tell you your hair is pretty, or looks good, when it's straight...

Hmmmmm?... Natural Hair

So, my last relaxer was in early July 2010, I trastioned for 6 months, and big chopped December 31st, 2010. And when people ask me, I tell them that I've been natural for 9 months strong. Because in my eyes, while I was trasitioning, I was natural, my mentality was natural, I dealt with, and style my hair like it was natural. Yess, it was harder to maintain, because of my relaxed ends, but because of my natural roots, I went through the same thing all naturals go through. Detangling, growth, moisturizing, deep conditioning, using sulfate-free shampoo, trial and error products/styles, ect.

But over these last nine months I've noticed that most natural women and trasitioning women see a difference in "Natural Hair" and "Transitioning Hair," that I just don't see.

Soo, my question to you is, is there a difference between "natural" and "trasitioning" hair to you? And if so, what is the difference?

That's Good Stuff

Sooo, I know I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been swamped in algebra homework lately(which I'm actually supposed to be doing right now, but oooohhh well :). But, over the past couple of months, I've developed a love addiction to tumblr. And since I believe in spreading the love, below are some of the flyest pics I've found this weekend, on various different tumblrs. :)Enjoy!

p.s.- Also, please forgive me if the black history posts don't come too often this week, I promise though, I will make it up next week :).

Much Love,
Eli <3.

Hair Journal!

Heyy guys, so the other day I found a recipe on Curly Nikki (I swear I practically live on that site :) for an all natural deep conditioner, and decided I would try it. The recipe included bananas, honey, olive oil, and an egg (haha sounded delicious until I said egg right…). So, here goes my first review :D.

Pros:
1. It was tasty lolz.
2. Since I already had all of the ingredients at my house, it was very cheap :).
3. It was a completely natural conditioner.

Cons:
1. Even though I strained the mixture, there were still little bitty pieces of banana left in my hair after I  rinsed the conditioner out. This was a major con for me.
2. My hair didn’t really feel any different than it does when I use other conditioners.

Final Review:
Scale of 1 to 10- 6
Star Scale- 2 out of 5 stars
Will I Use This Product Again- Maybe, but I think next time I might use baby food bananas instead of real bananas, that way there’ll be no little chunks left in my hair. :).

Happy Hair :),

 The mix.

After I strained it. Look at all those banana chunks in the strainer!!

Putting it in my hair (please excuse my nails lol).

Still mixing it in.

After I rinsed it out. Those little white spots are the banana chunks that stayed in my hair.
